Movie Nights continue  

e will present movies of interest to the Jewish community followed by voluntary group discussions, at 7 pm on designated Saturdays in Rosenthal Hall. Offered by Alan Katz and the Movie Commitee. Refreshments provided. Contact Alan or the Temple Office. will be announcing the next movie soon.
Torah Study Based on “A Women’s Commentary” (URJ Press)  
Women’s Torah Study: 4th Tuesday of each month, 7 pm, starting September 28, 2010, Temple Library (Rosenberg Center, aka Building 9); open discussion based on the URJ Women’s Torah Commentary. You may purchase a copy of the WRJ Women’s Commentary through the Ladies Concordia Society (Sisterhood). Please contact the Temple office at 762-0000.
Jewish Ethics  
 Taught by Alan Katz starting October 15, 2009 for three weeks. Class will meet on Thursday nights at 7pm in Rosenthal Hall. Open to all students.Contact Alan Katz..
Ancient Jewish History  

Taught by Glenn Tetterton will offer 3 sessions, starting November 10, 2009.  Class will meet in Rosenthal Hall at 7pm. Lecture and discussion open to all students and covering the Babylonian Exile through early Roman Empire.  

 

Yiddish Group  

Continuing Yiddish: Meets Wednesday from 10 to 11:00 am at Old Books on Front Street. This self-teaching group uses a course designed by the American Yiddish Center. This class is designed for students who took Beginning Yiddish in Spring 2009. For more information, contact Glenn Tetterton.   

Beginnng Yiddish: Class will begin on December 2 at 2pm in the Temple Library. Interested participants are requested to contact Glenn Tetterton to order the book. 

 

Adult B’nai Mitzvah Classes continue  
A new group will be starting later this year. Call the Rabbi at 762-0000 to learn more.
Adult Prayer-Book Hebrew  
If you would like to understand and participate in the Hebrew portions of the Shabbat services, then you need to learn to read prayer-book Hebrew. Mike Bauman will teach a group at Rosenthal Hall. This is a 10 week course starting Sept. 15, class time is 12pm (noon), and requires a commitment to complete the entire course and to study independently in preparation for the weekly classes. This class is designed for students who read the Hebrew alphabet. Book fee $25.00. Contact Mike Bauman.

Kabbalah and Talmud  
Sources of Spiritual Fulfillment taught by Rabbi Karz-Wagman. Join an interactive exploration of the wide spectrum of Jewish responses to what our lives mean and how we should live, focusing on Mysticism/Kabbalah and Talmudic (“mainstream”) wisdom. Offered Wednesdays in September  from noon to 1:15 pm. Open to all and continuing students. Contact the Rabbi.
Basic Judaism  

 Basic Judaism - An overview of Jewish history, community. practice and beliefs taught by Rabbi Karz-Wagman. Meets Wednesdays, 7pm-9pm, in Rosenthal Hall, December 9, and 16. open to all Temple members and non-members.

Ethical Wills  

Taught by Rabbi Karz-Wagman starting in 2010 for 3 weeks. Time and location to be announced. Open to all students who want to leave a testament of their values.
