This year the board voted to change our budget year, which
had run from January through December. The new budget will run from July
through June. This was done to bring budgeting in line with the Rabbi's work
year, the school year, and many other income and expense items. This new system will be much easier to track
income and expenses and match them to the budget year.
The transition for member dues will be handled in the
following manner. To realign dues for the new budget year, we concluded our
last budget on June 30th, 2011. We are now in budget year July 1,
2011 to June 30, 2012. Half of your dues for the original 2011 year will be
credited to the old budget and that book will be closed. If you still have an
outstanding balance for the first 6 months of 2011, you will still receive
statements for that.
Moving ahead into the new budget year, the other half of
2011 dues will be credited to the current year. Statements will then be sent
out towards the end of this year for the remaining balances, i.e., the first
six months of 2012. In the Spring of 2012, we will begin sending statements for
the 2012-2013 budget year.
This may seem confusing right now, but it will become clear
as we proceed through. The treasurer will be available to discuss this
transition with anyone who has questions after statements come out. Rest
assured, no one will be double billed for dues as we move through this process.
Thank you for your continued support of our beloved Temple.

As an
essential underpinning of a Holy community the Board of Trustees is committed to the
full and free exchange of ideas among our congregants. The Board
understands that we cannot always agree about issues facing the Temple or the
community, but voicing your concerns and opinions is important, indeed vital,
to all of us.
Please keep
in mind that our congregation is a family and, as such, we respect our
fellow congregants and welcome all comments and opinions. If at any time
you feel that the Board is not listening to your concerns,
please communicate with any Board member in order to assure that all
points of view are fairly and considerately resolved.
