Ladies Concordia Society is one of the oldest active Sisterhoods organized in December 1872.  The object of our Sisterhood is to further every interest of the congregaton; to cultivate the religious, educational and civic interest of its members; to promote followship among its members and to advance the program and the purpose of the Women of Reform Judaism.  As an associate member of this national organization, Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), our Sisterhood follows a fiscal year of July 1 thru June 30.  The election of LCS officers is held in the month of April and their installation is held in May.  Thus our new list of Ladies Concordia officers and committee people will be mailed to each Temple family in June  and we ask that you insert it in your current Temple Directory.

Ladies Concordia Society takes pride in offering programs for our members from September through May on the first Wednesday of each month.  Our Sisterhood is also involved in raising funds throughout the year for many of our Temple and Religious School needs.  We also participate in many community projects, including Meals on Wheels.  Our most recent community project was the testing of over 60,000 school students with the New Hanover County Public School Vision Screening Project.

We encourage all our Temple women to join Sisterhood so that we can continue to serve our Temple congregation, Religious School, and community.

It's that time of year again for renewing your membership with our Temple Sisterhood. If you are not a member of Sisterhood, we invite you to become part of all that we do or any part of our activities that interest you!

You should have already received our membership letter and program announcement in the mail and we hope that you will either bring your completed form and check ($30 for Temple members & $40 for non-Temple members) to our first meeting which is scheduled for October or mail your completed form and check to: Mrs. Dawn Ferrer, 5527 Chelon Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28409

Call Gloria Hirsch at 792-0056 if you know of any Temple member who is sick, hospitalized, or has had a new baby. Gloria will send a card on behalf of our Sisterhood.
